Hyaluronic Acid or Sodium Hyaluronate?

If you have ever read the ingredient list of a skincare product, you probably have seen hyaluronic acid or sodium hyaluronate. Both are great for hydrating the skin, and are found in serums and moisturizers.

Sodium hyaluronate is a salt derived from hyaluronic acid. It can be known to be absorbed into the skin better than hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is more expensive, and while it has many benefits for the skin, a lot of companies use sodium hyaluronate as a way to give those same benefits at a lower price.

Is Sodium Hyaluronate better than Hyaluronic Acid?

If fact, they both are amazing! Products can often list both in the ingredient list, and it is always better to have more than less hydration! Because you may see sodium hyaluronate more often is because it is less expensive.

Which one would I recommend?

Both! They help all skin types, especially dry and dehydrated skin. I use these two in my skincare routine, and highly recommend it!
