What’s on my top shelf
*technically it’s my bottom shelf since my bathroom only has cabinets lol*
Since being on acne medication, my skin has definitely “glowed-up” in a way, and many people in my life have asked me what I use to have my skin look like this. Now, obviously I don’t want to say that I have perfect skin. Because no one does. It is normal for your skin to change throughout a week, a month, a year, or a season in your life. Even now, as I am writing this, I have two pimple patches on my forehead. My skin has days when it is glowy, and my pores look invisible, and others when it is dull and dry.
Even on those off days, I especially use my consistent routine, and maybe bring out some other products that I think will help boost my skin.
Cleansers:
I have been using the Sioris Fresh Moment Cleansing Oil for the longest time, and am almost out of (I believe) my fourth bottle. This oil usually lasts me a little under 7 months, and I use it every night. This oil removes dirt, oil, makeup and sunscreen gently, and emulsifies to wash away everything, and preps the skin for my second cleanser.
I have been using the Round Lab Dodko Cleanser for the past two months, and have fallen in love with this cleanser. It is super fluffy and cloud-like. It cleanses the skin gently, and doesn’t leave the skin stripped or dry. I highly recommend trying this cleanser once in your life, because honestly it changed my life when it comes to cleansers.
Toners/Essences:
I have been rotating through a lot of toners and essences, all of them are hydrating and soothing. The first one is the I’m From Rice Toner, this is a hydrating, and brightening toner, that layers beautifully under the rest of my skincare.
The next toner Troiareuke Skin Complex Formula, this toner, is actually in a spray bottle, and it comes clear, but you can purchase an ampoule to mix into the toner. I chose the moisturizing ampoule, and I can honestly see how impressive this makes my skin look, I love using this both morning and night, and I can layer it easily.
The last two toners are in a toner pad form. The first one is the Neogen Green Tea Moist PHA Gauze Peeling. I have been using these pads to help with any pesky zits on my forehead. They are also gentle on the skin, and I find that these are great for anyone who is trying out exfoliators for the first time, as they can exfoliate the skin, while leaving it hydrated and soothed.
The Abib Heartleaf spot pad is a calming, soothing toner pad. I love using these as a sheet mask, which is great to hydrate the skin, and calm the skin. I like to use these after a long day outside or on hot day.
Serum:
I actually just started using the Hanskin vitamin C Glow Serum this last week. I have been hesitant to start vitamin c serums for the longest time, because I had struggled with sensitive, acne-prone skin. Just from one week using this serum, I have already seen my skin looking brighter and more even skin tone.
Eye Cream:
The ELF cosmetics hydrating eye cream is really great and simple for an eye cream. I do not think you really need an eye cream in your skincare routine as you can just use your moisturizer, but this one is $10 and I love how it makes my under-eyes feel hydrated and smooth.
Moisturizer:
I have been using the Rovectin Lotus Water Cream over the last few months, and I have been loving this cream. Very hydrating, but lightweight which is amazing for the spring and summer weather. I use this in the morning, and use a thicker moisturizer in the evening.
I have also been using the Neogen Vita Duo Day Cream in collaboration with Joan Kim, I have been watching her youtube videos for the last year and when she would talk about this day cream, I knew I needed to try it. I am so happy I did, it is formulated with green tea, and vitamin C to brighten and soothe the skin. It leaves your skin beautiful and glowing. I love using this moisturizer under makeup especially because it makes all my face makeup look even better. I highly recommend!
SPF:
For SPF I have been sticking with the DR. Jart+ Every Sun Day Sun Fluid with SPF50+. I love how lightweight this is, and how it does not leave a white cast after application. I am trying to look for other sunscreens to test out this summer!
Sheet Masks:
I love sheet masks so much, they are easy to use, great for an extra self-care moment, and these are just a few that I love the most. The first one is the Abib Gummy Sheet Mask Hyaluron Sticker. I find that most sheet masks do not fit my cheeks, but are big on my forehead, so when I tried this sheet mask, it formed to my skin. It is stretchy, and fits any face. I also love how hydrating it is, your skin after using it is plump, glowing, and hydrated. The next one is the Rovectin Dr. Mask Aqua Sheet. This mask contains 7 types of hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to hydrate and brighten the skin. I love how amazing my skin feels after using this mask. I think everyone should try this sheet mask at some point, because of how it changes your skin. Whenever I buy it, I always buy two cause I know I will love the results and want to use it again.
Spot Treatments:
When it comes to pimples, I always use pimple patches. I love how these are so effective and protect the blemish, as well as look pretty much invisible. The one I have been religiously is the Neogen A-Clear Soothing Spot Patch. These come in two sizes, (10mm and 12mm) and look pretty much invisible to the eye. These are not too expensive, and I find I do not go through them very fast. I usually like to apply these at night, and have them on all night, and if the pimple has not been soaked to the patch, I like to leave it one for as long as I can (before it gets gross). Usually I want to protect the skin around the pimple as well the pimple itself. I highly recommend trying out pimple patches because they can protect the pimple, and are great for anyone who finds acne treatments can be drying or damaging to the skin.
