Fall/Winter makeup favorites
It is finally the season for peppermint mochas and Christmas music, and puffer jackets once again. I love fall and winter- not necessarily the weather, but the vibes make me happy for sure.
I think just like out closet changes from shorts to pants, and short sleeves to sweaters- our skincare and makeup change with the weather too.
In this blog I going to share with you my favorite makeup products, new and old, that I have been loving. These are great for the change weather as they are hydrating, and light on the skin (and a few red lipsticks I love for the Christmas time)
Face:
Starting off with two new favorites of mine, the I’m Meme Therapy Calming Cushion is a lightweight, soothing cushion that allows for all day wear, beautiful finish and medium coverage. I love this cushion, and no lie, I cried one time with this cushion on, and it still looked in tack and glowy. (also contains SPF 50+)
The next one is the Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm that is non-irritating and soothes blemishes, and evens skin tone while having SPF 30 to help protect the skin. I love throwing this on when I am in a rush or want a more even skin tone, without all the bells and whistles of doing full face of makeup in the morning. It blends out with your fingers or a sponge!
Moving onto a setting powder, I have been recommending this to everyone I know because of how flawless my face looks with this. The Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting and Smoothing (vegan and talc-free) powder. I love how it blurs lines and pores, and keeps my makeup looking fresh, and set. The best part about this powder for me is that it helps get rid of shine, and sets your makeup, without stripping away any of your natural glow, which is amazing for anyone who loves using creme highlighters cause this won’t mattify your highlighter you have on already.
For blush, I finally tried out the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush in “Nearly Apricot”, and this is one of my favorite creme blushes right off the bat. First, I love that they have more shade options than just a rosy pink, but a deep plum and orange tones. I love how this applies, not being too strong at first. I feel like I can apply a lot, and not look like a clown. And it feels light on the skin and doesn’t streak on the skin.
My favorite creme highlighter has been the RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer and it just melts right into your skin, and look like you were naturally glowing this whole time. I love how easy it is to apply, and it lasts throughout the day.
Eyes:
Mascara has been kinda lacking for me this season, but one that I have been loving is the Rom&nd Han All Fix Mascara (L01 Long Black). Great black mascara that lengthens and lifts the lashes. The smaller brush applicator is great to really coat every lash. Definitely hits all the marks for a great mascara. The only downside is that the mascara can take a while to get off the lashes (its not waterproof) but I usally go in with my micellar water then my lash cleanser to make sure it is all off.
The Matte Bar from Maybelline is a great all matte eyeshadow that can really build multiple looks with. I love to use the darker colors to even make a winged out eyeshadow look, or use the rosy tones to make a soft muted look. Definitely something that I go to whenever I want to create any look as it has so many great transition shades in it.
Brows:
Two products that I use hand-in-hand are the Wet n Wild Micro Brow Pencil and the Colourpop Tinted Feather Effect Styling Wax. I use the brow pencil to fill and shape the brows, and use the styling wax to lay them down for the lamination brow look. Lasts pretty much all day, and color doesn’t fade.
Lips:
The four different lip products that I have been using surprising all have an orange/red tone to them which usually isn’t my type of color, but I have been trying to branch out more this year with my makeup.
The first one that I love fro a long wear, and easy tint is the Peripera Ink Mood, Drop Tint in #8. with a more orange apricot shade it is a subtle shade that if you are a little nervous of wearing red, I would recommend for going for a orange shade that I think looks good on everyone. Super easy to apply, and stays on for hours. When I was filming a video for this lip tint for my instagram, it stained my hand for rest of the day! So I was walking around with a streak of orange lip tint on my hand for the entirety of my day.
The Rom&nd Zero Matte Lipstick in the shade #3 Silhouette. This shade of red is so flattering, and while it is matte, the lipstick doesn’t dry out my lips, and I love how it lays on my lips. Easy to apply and immediately feels that it has been set with powder.
The third one being the Peripera Ink The Velvet lip tint in the shade #15 Beauty Peak Rose, pulling some pink into the mix. This lip tint is beautiful and feels light on the lips, setting as a velvet finish, it stays on the lips and leaves them looking full and pigmented.
Last on the is Mac Matte lipstick in Russian Red. This lip stays on for days, I mean it, definitely a true red lipstick, and has strong pigmentation, so if you plan to color outside the lines, its going to stay where you put it. I have the mini version as well which is so nice cause you can just pop it in your purse, and if you need to touch up during the day, maybe after eating or drinking, it is super easy.
As winter approaches, I hope you find something to look forward to, whether that be black friday shopping, or thanksgiving meal, or Christmas cooking, decorating. Whatever it may be, I hope this time brings you happiness and joy, cause it always does for me.
