Different ways to spice up your makeup look- post holidays
I don't know about you, but often the fantasy of a winter wonderland fades the moment its the new year, I don’t feel the Christmas cheer after the new year anymore. Instead it feels cold, (especially in MN) and dark before 5 pm.
This usually leads me to avoid anything fun in my makeup looks that I did during the holidays. (red lips, sparkly eyeshadows, and blushed cheeks) So after much searching through Pinterest, I have some inspiration for all of you.
Experiment with the winged liner
I have never been great with my eyeliner, but I have been so inspired by the other ways to use winged liner besides just a basic wing. Whether that be a double liner, cat eye liner, curved liner, or a dotted liner, it’s fun to try out different styles that can incorporated into your daily life!
Colorful, yet wearable eyeshadow
Maybe popping some light pastels to your eye look can make your eyes pop, and draw more attention to your eyes. I find doing my eye makeup more these days as most of the time my mask is hiding the rest of my face during the day.
I would recommend trying out a pastel purple, blue or pink, as they can look so fresh and bright on the face.
Experimenting with blush
Trying out different kinds of blush can add to your look and even change it. I have been seeing a lot of people using darker, purple-toned/burgundy tones of blushes, and it looks incredible! I would highly recommend trying out different shades. For the longest time, I stuck with the typical pink shade for blush, but once I tried an orange/taupe blush, my face looked so much more lively and bright. I now love trying new blush, and may have too many blushes at home.
Lip stains
Definitely something I think will be very prevalent in 2022. Lip stains are great to give a full and subtle draw to the lips. I love lip stains, some of them being from Peripera, Rom&nd, and I’m Meme. They have different shades and finishes for whatever occasion, or makeup look you have in mind. They are also incredibly long lasting, which I love because throughout the day, I don’t have to worry about reapplying my lipstick or touching it up.
I think when it comes to trying out new makeup trends, it can feel too fast, or that you can often get swept up with the rest of us, but trying little different things, can really make (at least for me) excited to get up and do my makeup in the morning.
What makeup are you going to try out in the new year?
I am definitely going to try out some new pastel colors on my eyes!
