Makeup that I have been loving

Once my skin cleared up and my skin texture was smoother, I found myself really loving to use makeup again. Before, I would often use makeup to hide my blemishes or redness, and for awhile after, I just stopped wearing much makeup at all because I thought it would help my skin breathe.

Once my skin cleared up, I found my love for makeup all over again, but in a different way, instead of having to hide my insecurities, or get rid of redness, I found I was trying new ways to shape my face, to add new color into my makeup looks, and often trying new trends out on myself. I was the fun to just try new products, rather than hoping the product would hide or mask an insecurity I had.

This summer, even though I don't wear makeup everyday, these products have been staples in my makeup routine, and I highly recommend!

Base:

- Dr. Jart+ Black Labl Detox BB Beauty Balm (Broad Spectrum) SPF 30

I love lightweight, natural BB creams, or any tinted moisturizers. While I was looking at the Dr. Jart section, I was interested in their BB balm. This BB balm has light-coverage, is hydrating, and had SPF to help protect against UV damage. This balm helps even skin tone, and imperfections. Non-irritating, and blemish soother, with purifying botanical actives.

- RMS Beauty “un”cover-up and NARS Radient Creamy Concealer

I feel like it is difficult to find any concealer for me, because I either get a high coverage concealer, but I often don’t prefer those because I often wear light makeup, or I get really light coverage concealers that just move around too much. So when I came across these two concealers I have been constantly using these in my makeup routine.

- Kosas Cloud Set and Maybelline Fit Me Set and Smooth

I recently purchased the Kosas Cloud Set, and I have been loving this powder! It sets the face wile leaving the glow you want. I can use this with my light to high coverage foundations. It is really versatile and leaves my skin glowy, but set.

I also love my OG setting powder, the Maybelline Fit Me powder sets the face beautifully, without leaving the skin dry or flaky.

Face:

- Elf Studio Blush

This is a great drugstore option for an amazing blush. This blush has a satin finish, which is not glowy or matte, and I think it can be so transitional for any look.

- Rom&nd See Through Veillighter Handbook Project and RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer

When it comes to highlighters, I want a highlighter that doesn't have too much of a warm or cool undertone. These two both meet in the middle for me. The Rom&nd has a slight pink tint to it, and the RMS Beauty has a gold/pearl undertone, and both flatter my skin tone.

Eyes:

- L’oreal Brow Stylist Definer and Elf Wow Brow

I have been using the eyebrow pencil for a few years now, and I cannot say enough about this product, the thin end helps create real looking hairs. I have been trying different brow gels, to see if price, or different components make one better than others. I have been loving the Elf brow gel, and honestly think it the best dupe to Glossier Boy Brow.

- Maybelline The Matte Bar Eyeshadow Palette

The great factor about this palette is that it is all matte, and the shadows really cater to what shades and colors I like. This palette is great to create pretty much any look, and often in the summer I will apply some shadows then pop on my highlighter as a way to bring some shimmer into my eye look, while also making my makeup look cohesive.

- Benefit Roller Lash and Maybelline Sky High mascara

Benefits mascaras have always won me over, and for the last month I have been trying the Maybelline Sky High Mascara, and I definitely think the hype around this product is true. I think after the third application of this mascara, it got to its good stage. I think with any brand new mascara, it is a little runny, and doesn’t sit on the ashes so well. But after the third use, this mascara never smudged (I don’t use the waterproof kind) and it really held my lashes high!

Lips:

- Elf Sheer Slick and Rom&nd Zero Matte Lipstick

Applying a little lipstick, even if no one can see it under my mask, makes me feel extra put together. I like both of these lipsticks, the Elf lip is more on the natural side, being light and moisturizing. While the Rom&nd is a matte formula, not drying by any means, but lasts longer. I used to hate a red lip, because it used to accentuate my acne, but now, I love having a little stain in the middle of my lips!
